A marriage retreat with us at Bethesda House is a unique experience. After being married and in Christian leadership for over 30 years, we understand the unique challenges of marriage and ministry. We are safe and non-judgmental. Out of our own brokenness we share what has made a difference in our lives, marriage and ministry. We are not licensed counselors, but coaches, teachers, and mentors. We generally work with one couple at a time to enrich their marriage through biblically-based personal coaching and equipping them in practical relationship skills. Retreats are customized to help you as a couple, based on your present needs and hopes. Through pre-retreat communication and questionnaires, we pray, discern, and craft a special retreat for you. We start with a basic structure and schedule; then adjust as God leads or as your needs and desires change while here.

Length – We suggest that the best time frame is 4 nights/5 days to give you time for travel, to relax and enjoy, rest, be alone with God and one another, and get in some significant time of coaching and depositing into your marriage relationship. Having said that, we can work within whatever time frame you have, and under special circumstances some stays can be a little longer.

Meals – We always begin with sharing a meal together and some breakfast foods are provided. We may share additional meals, however most meals are not included and are on your own.

The process – After our initial connection, we set dates. During a brief phone call with the 4 of us, we will share a little bit of our story and answer any of your questions. After that, we will send out our questionnaires and ask you to return them a couple of weeks before your retreat. We will finalize details together shortly before we meet.
